Kia Offering NACS Chargers Starting in 2025

What’s an NACS Charger?

An NACS charger is another name for a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter. These adapters can vastly expand the network of chargers available for those who own or buy a Kia electric vehicle (EV). In fact, they’re anticipated to provide access to more than 16,500 NACS DC fast chargers throughout the United States.

What Type of Adapters Are There?

There will be three types of NACS adapters available. The NACS to CCS1 adapters make existing Kia EVs compatible with DC fast chargers. The CCS1 to NACS adapters let NACS-equipped Kia EVs charge on existing CCS DC fast chargers. With J1772 to NACS adapters, NACS-equipped Kia EVs can charge on existing Level 2 chargers.

How Do I Get an Adapter?

In our commitment to providing a more convenient charging process, customers will receive a complimentary NACS adapter for the new 2024 and 2025 Kia EV6 and Kia EV9. If you’ve purchased your vehicle after September 4, 2024, you will receive an adapter in early 2025. If you already own a Kia EV6, Kia EV9, or Kia Niro EV, you can conveniently purchase an adapter from our dealership early next year.
