The devastating wildfires in Los Angeles have left communities grappling with loss, uncertainty, and the difficult road to recovery. Though Newport News is far from the affected area, we at Casey Kia understand that many in our community have loved ones, friends, or fellow service members impacted by this disaster. In times like these, companies, communities, and individuals need to come together to offer support, relief, and hope. That’s why Kia is stepping up to help those in need, ensuring that affected families and first responders receive critical assistance when they need it most.

American Red Cross Donation

Kia has its North American headquarters in Southern California and has witnessed the devastation firsthand. The company is donating $250,000 to the American Red Cross to support everyone affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Why the American Red Cross?

According to Seungkyu (Sean) Yoon, the president and CEO of Kia North America and Kia America, “Kia is deeply committed to supporting communities in need, especially during times of crisis. As the Los Angeles wildfires continue to impact families and neighborhoods, we stand alongside the American Red Cross in providing vital aid to those affected.” The American Red Cross is committed to providing comfort to victims of disasters, as well as veterans, military members, and their families, who we know are a substantial part of our community.

Additional Relief Efforts

The company is also doing as much as it can to support individuals as they face this devastation. Kia Finance America is providing financial hardship support to eligible customers and will provide payment relief solutions to those directly affected by the fires or living and working in the designated evacuated areas. Simply call 866-331-5632 if you’re affected. For a limited time, $1,000 cash rebates are available for select new 2024-2025 Kia models for directly affected individuals.

“Accelerate the Good” Charitable Program

Donating to the American Red Cross is just one facet of the Kia “Accelerate the Good” program. This series of national and local initiatives has provided over $30 million to those in need since 2019. Its outreach includes donations to organizations that support military families, attempt to defeat childhood cancer, end childhood hunger, shelter youth facing homelessness, shelter homeless animals, and more.
