Select Kia EV9 Owners Will Soon Benefit from Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) Technology

The Kia EV9 is already redefining what an electric SUV can be. However, starting later this year, certain owners will gain access to a rare feature in the current EV market: Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) charging. Vehicle-to-Home Technology Overview

Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) technology is an advanced technology that makes your vehicle more than a means of transportation. With V2H technology, your vehicle can serve as an energy storage system. Then, during inclement weather or power outages, you can reverse your power flow to conveniently power your home, using your vehicle as a power source. To do so, you will need a bi-directional charger.

Quasar 2 Bi-Directional Charger Details

Thanks to Wallbox, eligible Kia EV9 owners can now become owners of a Quasar 2 bi-directional charger and a Power Recovery Unit. The bi-directional charger offers up to 12 kW of power for EV charging and discharging. According to Enric Asunción, the CEO of Wallbox, “This cutting-edge technology allows eligible EV9 owners and lessees to take control of their energy usage and costs, while also providing backup power during power outages.”

Ordering a Quasar 2 Bi-Directional Charger

While supplies last, eligible owners can now pre-order the Quasar 2™ bi-directional charger and the Power Recovery Unit. You will need to register to purchase the Quasar 2 and the Power Recovery Unit, and then you will be placed on the waitlist. Keep in mind, there are limited quantities available, and orders will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis. The final payment for the charger will be invoiced once the charger is available, and it will be shipped soon after.

Why This Matters

This technology is still rare in the automotive world. While many EVs can charge from a home power source, very few are equipped to reverse that flow. V2H capability adds peace of mind and energy resilience to your EV9, especially important during storms, grid disruptions, or emergencies.

Who Is Eligible?
